Objectives of the Session:
Hydro-diplomacy is a concept that has been emerging in recent years, largely as a result of the observation of rivalries over water and even the risks of "water wars". This session aims to
- conceptually highlight the potential of peace building through hydro-diplomacy, noting on the contrary the opportunity of "basin peace
- highlight the best practices of technical, legal, organizational, economic and environmental tools at the basis of a "concrete" hydro-diplomacy
- to make emerge consensus on the importance of the good level of integration of the economic, technical, political stakeholders... and even of the representatives of the populations at the transboundary level

This session aims at the following outputs:
- List of good practices and institutional and technical innovations that could serve as a basis for a future 'catalog of good practices in hydro-diplomacy
- Identification of the difficulties, opportunities, risks and associated timeframes, the first step towards a
- Reflection on the financeability of these actions through environmental finance
- Debate on the desirability of a future 'world academy of hydro-diplomacy of basin peace'.
