The overall goal of this session is to present and discuss opportunities and approaches to enhance agricultural climate resilience through the scaling of innovative and integrated water management solutions in developing countries.
The emerging key messages are:
'- Climate change is water change. Therefore, application of integrated water management solutions at different scales is very important for building climate resilience in smallholder farming system in dry areas.
'- No water implies no food. This implies therefore resolving issues around water scarcity and water productivity is crucial for transforming food systems in developing countries
'- Inclusive socio technical agricultural water management solutions are necessary to build resilience to climate change.
'- Sustainable water use in agriculture is enhanced by the integration of all actors including farmers, governments, the private sector and the general population across interlinked sectors of water, food, energy and environment
