IWRM (Integrated Water Resources Management) is nowadays in the Senegal River basin, a multi-use tool for the benefit of riparian communities and therefore imposes collective choices for water management and agriculture. This IWRM represents a major challenge.
Also the IWRM as a management instrument, has made it possible to manage the sharing of this water resource in a peaceful and balanced way and based on the popularization of the Charter of the waters of the Senegal River ratified in 2002 by the Member States.
SOGED faces many challenges to ensure sustainable management of the river's water and to guarantee the supply of users. These challenges include the collection of fees for the maintenance of structures, the monitoring of crops, water surfaces and invasive plants.
However, nowadays, SOGED is currently facing new challenges
