Water and Sanitation in the Green PSE

The Green PES program has identified six sectors as priorities after a participatory and transparent analysis process, including the Water and Sanitation sector.
The session will discuss (i) the objectives of the Green PES for the water and sanitation sector in a circular economy perspective, (ii) the public policies to be put in place, (iii) the experiences capitalized in other countries and (iv) the investment opportunities to achieve the Green PES objectives for the sector.

The Nature for Water Facility launch event: enabling local champions to deliver watershed NbS investments

Objective:
This is the public launch session for the Nature for Water Facility, a technical assistance facility designed to provide a suite of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) consultancy services for water security. The session will highlight why NbS matter, provide case studies of their successful impact, describe the value proposition of this new program, and showcase how members of the global water sector community can partner and deliver on-the-ground watershed results.

Platform for Dialogue on Financing Water

The session seeks to engage to the voices of rural communities, youth, mayors and other local actors, as well as the financial sector in order to include their perspectives into the dialogue on financing water.

These shared perspectives can help shape and influence global initiatives, including the Roundtable on Financing Water and the OECD Global Observatory on Financing Water Supply, Sanitation and Water Security

Investing in Nature- based Solutions for Water Security

Investing in nature-based solutions, such as preserving or restoring wetlands and natural flood management measures, is essential to enhance water security. These solutions can complement or substitute for grey infrastructure, such as built reservoirs and water treatment plants. Mobilising funding for those solutions raises specific challenges, as they generate multiple benefits for a diverse range of beneficiaries - and only some of these benefits can be monetised.
