Justification

Brazil has a population of 210.1 million. Although it is rich in water and rainfall resources in some areas, 33,129,083 people do not have access to safe drinking water and 94,734,344 do not have access to adequate sanitation and live in water-starved environments. Our founder was born and raised in the northeastern region of Brazil, in the state of Sergipe. Its 23 million inhabitants were negatively impacted when this region experienced its greatest drought between 2011 and 2015. About 80 per cent of the cities in the region faced serious food and water security problems, as water consumption and other uses were threatened. This resulted in losses of about R$ 104 billion (US$19 billion).
