This project describes a two-pronged approach to provide safe water supply and school-based sanitation in rural West Bengal, India, using community education, involvement and empowerment strategies, with a specific focus in improving educational and health outcomes for girls. The project details the implementation of low-cost arsenic remediation solutions as well as the implementation of community-based school WaSH projects. Both phases of this project are highly sustainable and can be easily replicated in other parts of the world.
