With a GDP per capita of US$744, Burkina Faso ranks 183rd in the world. Rural areas are poorer than cities and lack most of the essential infrastructure. This is the case of the Eastern region, Gulmu, in which a Burkinabe NGO called Tin Tua ('Let's develop ourselves').
Tin Tua has asked Electriciens sans frontières for its support in carrying out or rehabilitating boreholes and installing solar pumps for the water supply of its 20 sites, called Diémas
