Justification

In rural areas of Burkina Faso, despite significant efforts, water supply remains particularly difficult. According to SDG indicators, only 45% of the rural population today has access to a basic water supply service. Nearly 30% of the inhabitants have access to only an un-improved water source and more than 25% of them have only limited access to this resource (JMP, 2015). Given the strong demographic pressure, the country is struggling to maintain and stabilize these access rates.
