On the occasion of its 56th General Assembly which took place from 8 to 9 February 2020, in Ziguinchor, on the theme: "Stakes and challenges of access and management of water for food security", Caritas Senegal has entered into the preparations for the ninth World Water Forum that Senegal will organise, for the first time in sub-Saharan Africa, from 22 to 27 March 2021.

It intends to do its utmost to ensure better involvement and effective participation in this world forum, given its long experience in the field of rural hydraulics.

Indeed, according to Abbé Alphonse Seck, Secretary General, "Caritas Senegal, which has the expertise and legitimacy conferred by its multi-decennial action in the rural hydraulics sector for the benefit of vulnerable communities, intends to participate in all stages of the World Water Forum "Dakar 2021"".

It is in this sense that Mr. Amadou Ndiaye, Technical Advisor to the Executive Secretary of the Coordination Unit of the World Water Forum "Dakar 2021" has been invited to the General Assembly of Ziguinchor, to present the 9th World Water Forum to the delegates of the diocesan Caritas.

The delegation of Caritas Senegal to this international meeting on water will be constituted and the list transmitted to the Coordination Unit of the Dakar Forum, it is announced.

This willingness of Caritas Senegal to participate in the Water Forum is part of the consolidation of the dynamics of capacity building for monitoring, analysis, proposals, dialogue and advocacy for efficient and equitable public policies and water services.
