Executive Secretariat of the 9th World Water Forum

The Executive Secretariat of the 9th World Water Forum is carrying out a large number of actions to mobilize, both nationally and internationally, for the involvement of all stakeholders. These actions aim at ensuring the success of the Forum through a significant preparatory work, focused on an inclusive approach, a good identification and involvement of stakeholders, the mobilization of adequate means and the timely implementation of activities.

It is within this framework that the promotion of the Forum continues at the international level with the organization of virtual meetings with different actors and partners. Mr. Abdoulaye Séne, Executive Secretary of the Forum thus participated in a number of webinars to discuss the importance of the Dakar 2021 event for the improvement of access to water and sanitation. This was notably the case during the ICESCO webinar of 28 May 2020 on "Peace, Citizenship and Resilience in Contexts of Crisis and Conflict" and that of the Water and Sanitation Stakeholders Platform of Senegal of 26 June 2020 on "Covid 19 Crisis and Prospects for SDG6".

Large virtual meetings also took place at the national level in the framework of the mobilization of actors. This was for example the case of the meeting of 4 June 2020 with the Senegalese members of the pilot groups and action groups on the progress of activities and that of 23 June 2020 with the executives of the Ministry of Water and Sanitation.

The information and exchange meetings organized by the Executive Secretariat will be reinforced during the coming weeks in order to ensure a strong involvement of the stakeholders in the process of preparation and organization of the Forum, both at the national and international levels.
