A delegation from the Executive Secretariat of the 9th World Water Forum and the World Water Council led by Co-Chairs Abdoulaye Sène and Patrick Lavarde met in Dakar with local elected officials and then parliamentarians to discuss the issues at stake at the Dakar Forum and explore ways to ensure their strong participation.
Led by Mr. Mbaye Dione, Vice-President of the Association of Locally Elected Officials and the Honourable Abdoulaye Makhtar Diop, Vice-President of the National Assembly, the representatives of the populations expressed their commitment to contribute to the success of the event. It is within this framework that workshops will be organized with the Executive Secretariat to draw up a road map and an action plan to ensure their involvement in the preparatory process and the organization of the Forum.
