National information and exchange workshop

Within the framework of the preparation of the contents of the 9th World Water Forum, the Executive Secretariat organized on March 4, 2020 in Diamniadio a national information and exchange workshop for the representatives of Senegal (co-chairs, members of the international steering committee, members of the action groups, pilot groups or advisory groups) within the working groups. Coming from the public sector, the private sector, civil society, local authorities, universities and basin organizations, etc., they have an important role to play with the other representatives registered in the working groups and coming from all over the world.

The general objective of this workshop was to prepare the Senegalese stakeholders involved in the preparation of the scientific and technical content of the Forum, to carry out their activities in the framework of the conduct of the work, to inform them on the next steps of the preparatory process of the Forum and to collect their suggestions on the best way to mobilize the positive participation of the Senegalese stakeholders.

To this end, the workshop was organized around three major highlights:

  • An information session on the working groups and the next steps in the preparatory process of the Forum
  • A working tools training session to familiarize participants with the use of the collaborative platform and other related tools set up to facilitate the preparation of the scientific and technical content of the Forum. It was led by the DIGISSOL team.
  • An exchange and suggestions session on the best way to mobilize Senegalese people for a significant participation in the Forum in working groups, national activities, the Initiative Dakar 2021, the Senegal Pavilion, etc.

The workshop was an opportunity for national actors to better appropriate the forum's orientations, the collaboration and exchange tools developed for this purpose and to define the axes of future collaboration
