Senegal: an open and stable country

Senegal, which is hosting the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar from 22 to 27 March 2021, is renowned for tourism and business. Situated on the west coast of Africa, Senegal's location in the most advanced part of the Atlantic Ocean makes it a hub connecting the continent to the rest of the world. Senegal also serves as an important gateway to major export markets in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Economic indicators have been steadily improving for several years.

Democracy, solid institutions, recognition of political and social rights, freedom of expression: Senegal is a model in Africa. A stable country considered as an example throughout the world with a long tradition of peace and democracy. This peaceful climate has helped to create a business environment conducive to investment.

At the crossroads of West Africa, Senegal is a country with multiple influences, reconciling modernity and respect for traditions. A place of exchange where any investor, regardless of origin, is free to settle and prosper. An influential player in Africa, Senegal is a signatory to international conventions on environmental protection, human rights, trade, copyright, labour law, etc. It is distinguished by its leadership in making major decisions at the international level.

Thanks to its high-quality infrastructure, Dakar, the capital of Senegal, regularly hosts major international meetings. This will be the case with the 9th World Water Forum.
